In terms of fighting mechanics, the principles are the same, but classes play very differently from Wakfu to Dofus. Everything is Wakfu, everything returns to Wakfu, in an eternal, unbreakable cycle. Wakfu is more focused on farming and dropping your items, has politics (but I think most players think the system is horrible and basically useless as it is), and environment, which is pretty cool. Wakfu is a perpetual life flow, which passes through any form to give it substance.
